The Vision and The Challenge

Softening the Clinical Experience

The primary objective for this project was to establish a professional and functional environment for medical consulting and procedure rooms while maintaining a distinct level of warmth. Because medical visits are often associated with stress or discomfort, the design strategy intentionally moved away from a purely sterile, monochromatic aesthetic.

By introducing a layered material palette featuring brown leather and warm wood tones, the atmosphere was shifted toward a more balanced, inviting, and reassuring sensibility that puts patients at ease.

The Technical Edge

Bespoke Manufacturing and Spatial Problem-Solving

Originally provided as large, open-plan areas, the suites required comprehensive structural and spatial problem-solving. Every wall, doorway, and partition was carefully planned and designed to create a functional, well-considered layout tailored to medical operations.
  • Custom Manufacturing: All built-in cupboards (BICs) were designed, manufactured, and installed by the workshop to ensure a perfect fit within the medical environment.

  • Tailored Furnishings: A custom couch was specifically designed and manufactured for the office space to complement the unique dimensions of the room.

  • Equipment Integration: A significant technical hurdle involved the placement and integration of specialized medical machinery, which was thoughtfully incorporated through rigorous research and client input.

The Finish Line

Functional Clinical Precision with a Human Touch

The final transformation successfully balanced clinical functionality with natural materials and intentional spatial planning. The result is a suite that is both smart and inviting, moving beyond traditional medical aesthetics. The client was extremely pleased with the outcome of the initial suite and subsequently engaged the studio to design and manage a second medical suite.
